This can be a big topic and I wish we can get a discussion going on it: what difficulty does everyone feel good with on this server? How difficult or easy would you like it to be. What are your suggestions?
For difficulty we can roughly split it into subcategories as: levelling, expansion progression, gearing.
Both levelling and expansion progression are super easy currently with instances. This goes for solo players and boxers alike, when you make self sufficient class selections. Gearing is more difficult as instances dont respawn and we level so fast. Though as it stands now you dont need gear for progression.
From personal experienmce, levelling with my trio SK, SHM, MAG its roughly the way of: single pull with SK, send pets, nuke as if there was no tomorrow, sit 15 seconds, repeat. The only times when a regular zone becomes interesting is when you dont get the time to rest to regain mana. Then it requires efficient playstyle.
For progression, to what I saw none of the mobs do require and strategy, timing or gear at the moment.
To me, ideally the difficulty can be adjusted in a way so that for levelling, the player is required to play well. For progression, just being max level shouldnt be enough but also gearing up should be required. May it be a tough fight.
Well, I imagine setting the difficulty is not an easy task here.
Suggestion: Players to choose their game difficulty
Would it be possible and a good idea to allow the players to select the difficulty by themselves? Same as when you play your single player game, you can choose between easy, normal, hard and hardcore. Currently we do have easy (instances) and hardcore (public zones). Then, should players be rewarded selecting a higher difficulty? I dont know about that. In our single player games we do not select "easy" also, and we dont expect a reward for it. Displaying this as a title could be an option.

hello, atm i can say that leveling on necro is easy. my war still takes longer to kill mobs even with some gear from kunark/velious. but i think this ok, because war is normaly a tank. maybe adding extra difficulty instances with extra reward on named or bosses would be nice. (with extra reward, i mean more loot or rare items drops more often from the loottable.) but dont remove the easy instance, because for beginners and not dps classes it would be more frustated to go trough stuff if they are not boxing. this would also prevent that you have 100 necros and mages on the server a harder version of the instances or harder bosses would fit nice to tank classes. so leveling a tank would not be worthless. atm i like the progression quests. kunark to velious was fun, because i was in zones i would never visit on other servers thanks for reading

Leveling a solo SK is "easy" not much can kill me and i do decent dps with some mana but its slow. This is ok for me though as I like it. Generally i found life is easier solo vs duo, boxing etc. (im ok with this too lol) One Point i would make is that the Raid mobs are easier than the trash mobs. Literally the most mind numbing fights are with healers IE Cleric of Innoruk... full heal.. full heal..... hot.. heal... 10mins later dead. I do think the trash mobs need a nerf for solo and the raid mobs needs a bit of a boost.
(and extra AA xp hehe)

Criteria to consider when giving feedback on difficulty: - What expansion are you in? - Per zone - Per mob type - Your level - Your class - Group composition: Solo? How many players? Their classes? - Your gear - Groups gear
These will all help me tweak the scaling formulas / models.

on that note In classic all zones 52 with 3 AA regen SOLO SK Gear is good for classic (PoF SK gear, CoF, Soul Leech 2hander) Trans mobs are about 2x hard as Raid mobs Healer mobs are terribly time consuming. I would say a simple HP debuff to trash mobs in SOLO and HP boost to raid mobs in SOLO would make it a bit more efficient (this would indirectly help AA xp too)

Additional mobs casting slow and debuffs that never seem to be resisted is terrible. no matter what my MR is Slow form light blues and greens seems to ALWAYS stick and makes it impossible for a melee... just sit there for 10 mins and hope something dies. its beyond painful

Veeshans peak was pretty well adjusted for my trio. 3 of those dragons took me several attempts. Had to use potions, raid buffs and anyting available. Though one detail, Phara Dar I believe I was only able to take down cause after 2 of my toons died, the adds scaled down so much that it became easy.
Now in velious, Kael is way too easy. After VP you can go straight for AoW and kill him even without chain healing. This needs adjustment imo. Please review.
